One studio. One point of view.
Before the studio

FASHION.
MUSIC.
CULTURE.
NEW YORK.

Bionic Egg grew from a design point of view shaped by editorial fashion, music, nightlife, entertainment and the first wave of digital culture.

Early art direction at VERSACE in Milan—including a chapter at MTV Latin America—was one influence among many. In August 2001, that mix became an independent studio built to create work with personality, intelligence and staying power.

Chapter One · 2001

THE STUDIO
BEGINS.

Before platforms and templates standardized the web, every identity and every digital experience began with a blank page.

2001
Bionic Egg is born

AN INDEPENDENT NEW YORK DESIGN STUDIO.

The name expressed the original idea: creativity and technology working together as one living system. The studio began with fashion, photography, identity and early web projects—then expanded wherever good ideas led.

Identity

We shape the idea before we design the surface.

  • Naming and positioning
  • Logo and visual systems
  • Brand voice, print and packaging

Built to be recognized.

01
Interface

We turn the brand into a custom digital experience.

  • UX and content structure
  • Website design and development
  • Mobile, e-commerce and CMS systems

Built around people, not templates.

02
Launch

We carry the work into the world—and help it perform.

  • Campaign and rollout materials
  • SEO, content and digital marketing
  • Training, support and ongoing evolution

Built to keep moving.

03

Designing without a formula.

Early work moved freely between print and digital. Brands were drawn, photographed, coded and launched individually—before content management systems, social platforms or one-size-fits-all website themes defined the process.

ONE STUDIO.
MANY WORLDS.

The early years moved between first-generation websites, music, fashion, beauty, publishing, hospitality and national consumer campaigns. The range was never accidental—it became the studio’s DNA.

What has never changed
Technology evolves.
Design trends come and go.
Brands endure.

The platforms have changed. The screens have changed. The pace has changed. What has not changed is the belief that every project deserves an original idea, a clear point of view and careful execution.

Mark Johnson, founder and creative director of Bionic Egg
The next twenty-five

STILL CURIOUS.
STILL INDEPENDENT.
STILL EVOLVING.

To every client who trusted Bionic Egg with an idea, every collaborator who helped bring the work to life and every person who came back with the next project—thank you.
